Before placing the roofbars on the vehicle, check the bar length and attachment strength. Bar length "L" shall not be less than:
Small: 124 cm or 49 inches
Medium: 142 cm or 56 inches
Large: 165 cm or 64 inches
Again, make sure your roof bars are not too short
From the side of the vehicle, lift up the tent and carefully place it on the roof bars. Adjust the tent so it is centered on the bars and the weight is well distributed. Check that the tent doesn't interfere with opening the lift gate.
Eight plates and "U" or carriage bolts are use to attach the tent to the roof bars.
Insert 4 attachment plates with their bolts (assembled according to figure 4a) in the two slotted metal rails molded into the tent's base
Slide the attachment plates until they reach the roofbar "C"
Lift the edge of the tent. Slide the plate until the bolts are on either side of roofbar "C". Do this to all sides before bolting the bottom plates.
Place the four bottom plates in position and tighten the nuts. Drive a short way and tighten again.
Check the roofbar towers to make sure all their fasteners are tight also.
Undo the back latch and push up on the upper shell; the tent automatically opens
Climb up and tighten the strut locks "M". This prevents the tent from closing in high winds.
To close the tent, loosen the strut locks "M", remove the ladder and pull the lowering cord. Leave both doors slightly open to let the air out when lowering. If the tent does not completely close, check to see if something stored inside is preventing it.
Before locking the covers, tuck the fabric in and make sure that it isn't getting pinched. The fabric can chafe between the shells.
The ladder can be stored inside the tent with the hooks up so they do not hurt the mattress.
The ladder height is adjustable. It is designed to connect to the car's rain gutters (fig 12) or the tent's base (fig 12a)
The fabric can tear at the base if you apply too much force at the sides of the doorway
Caution: Any weight placed on the roof can change the way a car handles. Please reduce speed according to driving conditions. Drive safely.
