ZIFER AUTOHOME® SIGNS UP FOR THE PATENT BOX

Like other large companies in Italy, Zifer Italia S.R.L. has announced an agreement with the country’s Tax Authorities for tax relief under the Patent Box arrangement for the AUTOHOME® trademark.

Patent Box is an optional tax regimen, introduced by the Italian government with the Stability Act of 2015, excluding from taxation a portion of income derived from intellectual property, industrial patents, trademarks, drawings, and models, as well as processes, formula, and information relating to past experience in the industrial, commercial or scientific field which can be legally protected.

Zifer Italia S.R.L, with headquarters in Rivarolo Mantovano, owns the patented trademark AUTOHOME® and is the worldwide leader in designing and manufacturing roof tents for vehicles. It has signed a Patent Box agreement with the Italian Tax Authorities for tax relief for the AUTOHOME® trademark. The tax benefit will go into the accounts for the years 2015 - 2016 - 2017 - 2018 - 2019. The five-year tax relief is calculated by excluding from taxable income an increasing portion of income arising from intangible assets subject to relief, 40% in 2015 and 2016, 50% in 2017, 2018, and 2019. The Italian government introduced the regulations to prevent intangible assets of prestige trademarks from leaving the country and to foster investments in research and development.

Zifer Italia S.R.L. has been manufacturing in Italy since 1958 and has always maintained its know-how in the country, in the R&D Center. Faithful to its belief in “made in Italy,” the Mantova-based company immediately took up the opportunities provided by the Patent Box and has reinvested the profits resulting from the reduction in taxation on intellectual property and industrial patents. The result is additional company development and the construction of new facilities next to the existing structures. The aim is to boost production, improve the storage of roof tents and quicken up worldwide distribution. Autohome tents are sold on five continents and dozens of countries from the United States of America, Japan, South Korea, to the United Arab Emirates
